Are you feeling lucky this month? Healthy living is a mindset and lifestyle journey, and we want you to be feeling happy, healthy, and goal oriented (just like the leprechaun after his pot of gold). One way to stay on this golden path is to include lots of greens in your diet! Green foods don’t have to be blah, so here I have included a DIY healthy snack board to keep the family full and feeling lucky to have you in their life. Snack Boards are a great way to promote healthy eating and keep hungry children at bay.
The Idea of the Snack board (much like the very trendy charcuterie board) is to include different categories and textures of food. This way everyone can get a taste of their favorite, and allow them to explore the sweet, savory, salty, tart, crunchy, and delicious food options.
Dip and Chips:
For some dip variety options, make your own Spinach and Artichoke Dip or Homemade Guacamole! For chips you can make your own kale chips or grab some healthy spinach chips from the store.Veggies:
Vegetables are important in your diet, so why not throw some delicious sugar snap peas, celery, broccoli, bell peppers, cucumber, or even green olives! The more whole foods the more wholesome you’ll feel.
Fruit:
Green grapes, kiwi, pears, and green apples are all sweet and tart green foods to add some variety to the board. You could even throw in other colored ingredients to make a rainbow to stick with the St.Patty’s theme, or cut into shamrock shapes. The opportunity for creativity is endless!
More Crunchies:
Popcorn, Pistachios, and Edamame are other ideas to add for some texture and other types of crunch. Maybe even throw in some gold rolos or chocolate coins for people to find as they get through the snack board. After all, it is the idea to reward yourself every once in a while, and will leave them feeling very lucky.
Overall, these boards are super fun and easy to create to make the perfect snack. At HealthyMe Living, we want to keep things easy, healthy, and make everyone happy at their own convenience. Feel free to throw in any of our snacks on your board as they make great additions to any snack time.
